Welcome

My name is Ruthie Steinberg and I have been a practicing therapist since 1990. I went to Brandeis University for my undergraduate education, where I majored in Psychology. I then went on to Columbia University in New York City, where I recieved two masters degrees in Psychology and Counseling Psychology. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Parenting Coordinator, Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator, and I specialize in pediatrics and family issues, including treatment for parental alienation. 

My therapuetic approach is unique in that it is based on holistic principles. By exploring individual needs, issues, environments, relationships, physical health, level of functioning, and any other relevant factors that may impact their well-being, I can establish individualized treatment plans. I become partners with my clients and when appropriate their families, and together, we work to achieve the treatment goals we set. My main objective is to assist individuals, families and couples to achieve the highest level of functioning and happiness by focusing on empowerment.  Whether I am treating an illness, issue, life circumstance or helping a couple divorce, I help build a sense of empowerment so that decisions are left to be made by the individual, as it should be. 

I am extremely devoted to my clients and passionate about their well-being. I go above and beyond to ensure that my clients' environments are set up for success. This includes attendance at school meetings, doctors appointments, and court when neccessary. If needed, I am accessible and will meet with clients during off hours to proactively avoid escalations of problems and crises. I look forward to helping you!
